This new two-storey home sits comfortably onto its site, taking advantage of its solar exposure, views and sloping ground to the river frontage. The roof eave is brought down low in the front to give the home the look of a bungalow in keeping with the neighbouring bungalows that line the street. The rear elevation is mostly glass, protected by a broad pergola and sun-shading devices. An early concept for the home was the cottage in the city, with casual elegance, able to meet the needs of a young family and be a place to entertain and work. natural materials were used throughout and detailing is modern and minimal. Special features include the solar shades, the Runford fireplace, cantilevered stair and custom millwork.
